    Trad. Irish/Scottish
    Vocals, Keyboards, Concertina, Bass

    Lyrics

An earthly nurse sits and sings
And aye she sings by lily wean
And little ken I my bairn's father
Far less the land where he dwells.

He came one night to her bedfeet
And a grumbly guest I'm sure was he
Saying here am I they bairns' father
Though I am not comely be.

I am a man upon the land
I am a selkie by the seaan
d when I'm far, so far from land
My home is in Shule Skerrie.

It came to pass one summer's day
When the sum shone bright upon the stone
He came to fetch his little young son
To teach him to ride the foam.

And he has a purse of gold
And he put it upon her knee
Saying give to me my little young son
And take up they nurse's fee.

And that was the last of I saw of my dear.
